Weekend Update- Veterans Day Edition

Dear Resident,

Please note that Town Hall and the Recycling Center are closed Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.  Our Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Monday at 11am in front of Town Hall at our Veterans Memorial.  All are welcome.   See below for more. 

EVENTS/PROGRAMS

Property Taxes Due - The grace period for 4th quarter property taxes (due November 1st) ends on November 12th. Note that interest charges on payments made after the grace period are calculated back to the November 1 due date. The Tax Collector’s office will have extended hours on November 12th from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. A drop box is located in the vestibule of Town Hall and is available 24/7. All payments left in the drop box by 6:00 pm on November 12th will be credited that day and will not be subject to interest. Read the Tax Collector’s letter HERE

Pajama Drive for Children in Foster Care – Town employees are asking for residents to join them as they hold a Pajama Drive this holiday season.  Donations of pajamas in youth and adult sizes are requested.  New with tags, please.  Donations boxes are at Town Hall and the Rec Center until December 6.  FLYER

Community Unity Event – Join Marlboro school System for an event on November 13 from 5-7pm at Marlboro Middle School. FLYER

Youth Exchange Information Session – November 19 at 7pm at the Recreation Center.  FLYER

Kids Night Out – December 13 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm Marlboro High School in the cafeteria.  Registration required.  FLYER.  

Veterans Day Ceremony – Please join us on November 11 at 11am at our Veterans Memorial in front of Town Hall as we honor all who served.  Featuring Marlboro High School musicians and light refreshments to follow.

Department of Police Records will be CLOSED for training on Tuesday, November 19. Accident Reports may be retrieved on line by visiting www.marlboropd.org and clicking on ‘download your accident report’.  Otherwise please leave a voicemail at 732-536-0100 Ext. 1423 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. NJ Stage 3 Fire Restriction –The NJ Forest Fire Service, has implemented a Stage 3 Fire Restriction statewide due to the extreme drought conditions.  The following are NOT permitted: bonfires, any open flame or flame producing device, discharge of fireworks, open flames in an outside setting.  Dispose of cigarette butts in a proper receptacle.  Additionally, a drought watch was issued for the state. Deer Rutting Season – Peak Season is mid-October to mid-December, dusk to dawn. They tend to travel in packs and dart across roads quickly.  Please slow down and be vigilant. Vehicle/deer accidents can do real damage.  If you do see a dead deer on the roadside, please call the police non-emergency number at 732-536-0100. They will report it to the correct authority, who generally has 72 hours to remove. DEP Deer Mating Season

All Town meetings are posted on the Township website ‘Upcoming Events’ Calendar linked HERE.  Agendas, where applicable, are posted to the website not less than 48 hours in advance of the meeting and are linked to the calendar event.  The following Council/Planning/Zoning meetings are upcoming. Other meetings can be found on the calendar.  From time to time, meetings are cancelled and notice is posted to the calendar event.
