Weekend Update
Dear Resident,
Several years ago I began the ‘See Something. Say Something. We will Do Something.’ Initiative to address school shootings across the country and to increase engagement between members of our community and police. Today, I am announcing an expansion of that initiative to include auto thefts that have occurred in Marlboro and other suburban communities. Please keep an eye out for emails, flyers and social media posts.
Please continue locking your vehicles, keeping valuables out of sight, and removing the key fob. I ask that you share this this message with your neighbors. Together as a community we can help fight crime.
ROADS, GRANTS, PROJECTS, PROGRAMS
Commuter Parking – The deadline for renewing commuter parking permits ends March 31, 2022. New registrations will be accepted beginning April 1 and open spots in the Texas Road lot will be made available to non-residents. Pothole Portal – The portal is on the home page of the website ‘Quick Links & Actions’ and HERE. Only one Marlboro SDL account is needed for all on-line services. This efficient method of reporting allows our residents who drive our streets every day to direct resources where they are needed.
Bagged Leaf Collection – Brush collection ends this week and bagged ONLY leaf collection begins March 28 by Zone. See the letter from DPW HERE for details and dates. FREE leaf bags are available to residents and can be reserved by completing the on-line registration form HERE.
Recycling Center – The recycling center is open year round Mondays and Wednesday from 8am to 1:30pm and Saturdays 8am to 4pm. Schedule adjustments due to holidays are noted on the calendar. Lawn debris, recycling, and electronics may be brought to the Recycling Center; no permit or fee. Bulk items require a free permit available on line HERE.
Recycling Center – OPEN Saturday, March 26 as paving was able to be done ahead of schedule.
PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Spring is here and exciting programs are on the way.
Spring Recreation Programs – Registration for all ages is ongoing. View and register on Community Pass HERE.
Scrambled Egg-stravaganza – Saturday, April 9 from noon- 2 for a scrambled egg hunt. Inflatables, petting zoo and special guests. Free. No registration needed. FLYER
Blood Drive – May 1 from 10am - 4pm, Marlboro Police, Recreation and the Alliance for the Prevention of Drug Abuse announce a Community blood drive. Advance registration suggested but not required. FLYER
Rabies Clinic – Saturday, May 14 from 10am - noon. Dogs and Cats must be annually licensed with the Township. Late fees will be added after April 30. The licensing form and to register and pay online click HERE.

Marlboro Township Water Utility (MTWUD) Customers - Please be advised that, due to the increase in Middlesex Water Company’s (MWC) rates approved by the BPU, new water rates are effective for Marlboro Water Utility customers as of January 1, 2022. Bills generated on or after April 1 will reflect the new rates. Please see the letter from MTWUD regarding the MWC rate increase HERE.
COVID-19 Ratepayer Relief Measures –Measures are in place to provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program. Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Committee to Review Optimum ISP Options – As per the letter sent via email earlier this week I am forming a committee to review ISP options within Marlboro. Please review the letter for more (SEE HERE)
Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) – Application deadline April 8 Marlboro Township Police Department is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Township’s DVRT. In cooperation with ‘180 turning Lives Around’ this free, 24/7 confidential service available to victims of domestic violence in the aftermath of a highly emotional and traumatic experience.
