Weekend Update – Mother’s Day Edition

Dear Resident,

This Sunday, we will celebrate Mother's Day, and we extend our deepest gratitude to all the incredible Marlboro mothers. Your tireless love, strength, and dedication are the foundation upon which families and our community thrives. To all mothers, whether biological, adoptive, foster, or maternal figures, we salute you. Thank you for all you do.

EVENTS

Kids to Park Day – Saturday, May 18 is National Kids to Parks Day. Marlboro has 14 parks to explore and enjoy. Click HERE for a park list. Kids to Park FLYER

Harlem Wizards v Teachers & Staff - Tickets on sale now for this amazing community event to be held May 30.  Police Chief Pezzullo is the special referee.   Tickets are selling fast.  FLYER

PUBLIC NOTICES

Bulk/Spring Cleanup and Brush Collection – Underway by zone as per the recycling calendar.  Please remember that there is no bulk collection the week following Mother’s Day to allow the street to remain clear for visiting families.  To ensure that our streets stay clear and safe for traffic, pedestrians, we ask that residents follow the regulations and timelines.  Review the letter HERE and FLYER

County Shredding – Monmouth County hosts shredding events open to all county residents.  On May 18 the truck will be at the Municipal Complex from 9-1 or until the trucks fill.  FLYER

Primary Election June 4 – Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots were mailed for those registered to VBM. May 28 is the last day to apply for VBM ballot.  Your completed VBM ballot may be placed in the drop box in the Town Hall parking lot.  The last day to register for the primary election is May 14.  For more, call Monmouth County Board of Elections 732-431-7802 or visit https://www.monmouthcountyvotes.com/

Pet Licensing– Per Township Ordinance, the late fee for dog renewal licenses became effective May 1 and a $15 late fee will be added to all dog renewal licenses in addition to the registration fee. Beginning June 30, a $50 summons may be issued (per Township Code 94-21) for each unlicensed dog and must be paid thru Municipal Court before you can register the dog. Please note, new pet registrations do not incur the penalty.  Licensing your dogs and cats annually is required by state and town regulations.  The rabies vaccine must be current at the time of application.  On line and mail-in information HERE.

Life Guard Training – Train to be a lifeguard.  Must be age 15 by the end of the class. Employment free training opportunity. FLYER

PUBLIC SAFETY

Fire Safety Message – Each month our fire officials share safety tips.  This month, we are reminded to take a few simple steps to ensure that our clothes dryer is operating safely.  FLYER

TOWN MEETINGS

All Town meetings are posted on the Township website ‘Upcoming Events’ Calendar linked HERE.  Agendas, where applicable, are posted to the website not less than 48 hours in advance of the meeting and are linked to the calendar event.  The following Council/Planning/Zoning meetings are upcoming. Other meetings can be found on the calendar.  From time to time, meetings are cancelled and notice is posted to the calendar event.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

COVID-19 Ratepayer Measures provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
