Township Weekly Update

Dear Resident,

Please note the following:

  • Greenwood Road Closed– Starting Monday August 3rd Greenwood Road will be closed between Ticetown Road and Dawes Drive from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, not a 24-hour road closure.   The construction will consist of drainage improvements, various curbing, and resurfacing of Greenwood Road. This Township project is a 3 phase project which consists of Greenwood Road, Ticetown Road, followed by Texas Road. The projected timing of completion for all 3 phases will be approximately 4 months. We will continue to update you as the project progresses.  Police officers will be on location and digital and detour signs are in place.  Detours in place are:

From Old Bridge: Route 516 to Route 79 South to Wilson Avenue, to Texas Road
From Marlboro: Texas Road to Wilson Avenue to Route 79N to Route 516

As always, road projects are weather permitting.  Please avoid the area, if possible.  For ongoing construction and roadwork updates, please visit Road Repair

  • Annual Property Tax Bill UPDATE –Please note that annual tax bills have been mailed and the grace period has been extended to August 25. We had previously announced that there was a delay in the tax bill certification by the State and pursuant to statutory law the grace period for the 3rd quarter property taxes (due August 1) would be extended as statutorily required based on the mailing date. Please visit the Tax Collector web page for additional information.  Note that interest charges on payments made after the grace period are calculated back to the August 1 due date.
  • Letter to Marlboro Businesses – It has been our objective to ensure that Marlboro businesses stay informed and have the opportunity to access programs which may be of assistance. If you own a Marlboro business and did not receive the email, please send the name of your business, the physical address and the email address to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please take a moment to review the letter sent Thursday detailing links for programs and information available to businesses at the Marlboro, County, State and Federal level.  https://marlboro-nj.gov/images/notices/2020/BusinessLetterJuly30FINAL.pdf

  • Marlboro Municipal Services UPDATE – Town Hall Office is staffed and employees are responding to inquiries by phone and email during normal business hours. On-line access to services is also available and a contactless drop-box is available 24/7 in the outer lobby of Town Hall. Please see the letter with information and links HERE.

Marlboro Office of Emergency Management is monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias. There is still uncertainty on the exact track and intensity. Please take a moment today and prepare:

  • Fill plastic freezer bags with water or use water bottles and place in the freezer. The ice can be used to extend the time that refrigerated food is kept safe during an outage.
  • Charge all personal electronic devices.
  • Secure or store any loose items such as garbage cans, flower pots, lawn ornaments, etc. as they can become dangerous projectiles in high winds.
  • We ask residents to assist us in keeping sewer drains on or near your property clear and free from leaves, trash and other debris. Clean drains allow water to run freely and help to prevent flooding.
  • If you use a portable generator, review safety guidelines HERE
  • Review the steps to plan and prepare for an outage at https://www.ready.gov/power-outages

Businesses that have erected tents and placed tables outside should take precautions to ensure that these items are secure.

Please follow local weather outlets and the local office of the National Weather Service https://www.weather.gov/phi/ We will update you as more is known.
