Storm Update #2
Recreation Center Open for Warming and Charging Devices (medical and electronic)
Dear Resident,
The Marlboro Office of Emergency Management has been activated since last evening and continues to monitor road closures and power outages. We have been in contact with JCP&L and they are performing staged restorations on outages throughout their service area. More on that below.
The Recreation Center is operating as a charging and warming station. Please bring your power cords and plug. Residents that have medical devices requiring charging should go to the Recreation Center. Please do not wait until your device has no power. If you require transportation call 732-536-0100. In case of emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
JCP&L is in the process of restoring power. You can read more about that HERE. At this time JCP&L has a global estimated time of restoration (ETR) of 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20. Note that is the time they expect their LAST customer to be restored; often those who require work to their home. They are expecting that most customers will be restored much sooner than that. For that reason, it is important for residents to report their outages to 888LIGHTSS so that you can receive the expected ETR for your address.
Roads are still closed throughout the town. As of the writing of this letter, the following roads are closed/detoured.
- Lafayette between Pheasant and Eagle
- Pleasant Valley Road between Conover and Mockingbird
- School Road East detour between Braxton and Country Club
- Gordons Corner Road between Vista and Micki
- Beacon Hill near Beth
- Texas Road flooding has receded and is now open.
Assume all downed wires are live and dangerous. Do not drive over or touch them. Immediately report to police.
Please do not call police for power outage updates. They do not have additional information and it is vital that their lines stay open for emergencies.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. We will update you as needed.
Stay safe.
