Mayor Hornik’s Storm Update – Winter Storm Helena #1

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area until 4pm this afternoon. Snow accumulations are expected to be from 2 to 5 inches, making it probable that snow plows will be needed. For that reason, residents are reminded per Township ordinance, to remove vehicles and all other items (basketball hoops, garbage cans, etc.) from the roadways. This allows the plows to clear more effectively, and reduces the likelihood of damage to vehicles.

The snow is expected to heavy at times, bringing with it reduced visibility and hazardous travel. Please see my EMAIL sent Friday containing links to important storm preparedness information and contacts.

Please immediately report downed wires to JCP&L or the Marlboro Division of Police. Never go near a downed power line, even if you think it is no longer carrying electricity. As always, the Marlboro Division of Police is available 24/7 and may be reached by calling 732-536-0100. For emergencies, dial 911.

We will update you via Social Media and email, as necessary. Please stay safe and make sure your cell phones are charged and your flashlight has fresh batteries. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance.

Mayor Jon Hornik
