Take the Pledge
JOIN THE CLUB
Chief Pezzullo and I are pleased to further expand our ‘Take the Pledge’ initiative. While the entire state has experienced a spike in auto thefts, the numbers are own in Marlboro (32% less than the same time last year) but this is not the time to let our guard down.
In addition to The Pledge to take basic steps to keep our vehicles and homes safe, we are now introducing ‘Join the Club’. This is a partnership with the NJ Auto Theft Task Force and a direct result of the long term assignment from the Marlboro Police to the State task force. We are pleased to make The Club steering wheel lock available at no charge (max 2 per address). If you do not yet have an ‘I Took the Pledge’ lawn sign one will be delivered to your home by a Marlboro Police Officer along with The Club.
Above all, call the police if you see something that feels not right or out of place. Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. ‘See Something. Say Something. ® We will Do Something.’
It is important to note that virtually every car stolen has had access to the key fob. Even more concerning, an unlocked car gives access to your home via the garage door opener. So Join the Club and be a partner in fighting crime.
Follow these simple steps:
- If you do not yet have a Citizen SDL account, please CLICK HERE for instructions to set one up (one registration per household is all that is needed for all on-line services).
- Click HERE to take the on-line pledge.
- A Marlboro Police Officer will deliver The Club and Pledge lawn sign to your home.
*If you would prefer step by step instructions for using the Citizen SDL portal, click HERE.
Displaying the lawn sign and the steering wheel lock in your vehicle will share this safety message with your neighbors and let potential thieves know to ‘Get Out of Marlboro!’
Together, as a community, we will continue to make a difference!
