Dear Resident,
This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Marlboro Township Police Department were informed of bomb threats to Marlboro Memorial School and Board of Education buildings. In cooperation with the BOE Superintendent, all schools were closed after an initial 2-hour delay in order to allow law enforcement to conduct a complete and thorough investigation. In coordination with State Police and the Department of Homeland Security, we have determined this threat to be of low credibility.
In an abundance of caution, Town Hall Municipal Offices were closed due to its proximity to the BOE building. Town Hall has since reopened and we ask for your patience as employees return to the building. The blood drive and all afternoon recreation center programs are on as scheduled. Marlboro k-8 school system has closed for the day.
The Marlboro Police Department and other law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the source of this threat. We ask that you please do not call police for updates as they do not have further information and it is vital that their lines remain accessible for emergency calls.
Thank you to the Marlboro Township Police, Marlboro Office of Emergency Management and state and county law enforcement for their quick action and assistance.
Stay safe,
Mayor Jon Hornik
